From nursery right through 6th grade, without ever changing schools

Your child can join us at 3 months old and stay until 6th grade. They don't change schools, they move up a level — and the adults around them pass on what they know about your child, so they never have to start from scratch.

Primary cycle · 6 – 12 years

And after Grande Section?

Your child continues at the same school, with the same familiar faces and the same leadership team. The six years of primary school carry them through to 6th grade, the final step before secondary school.

Nursery

First landmarks, taken gently

For many families, this is the very first separation. We treat it as such: slowly, with rituals, and with a gradual settling-in over several days rather than one abrupt morning.

Key activities

  • Sensory awakening: fabrics, sounds, soft light, textures to touch
  • Free movement: mats, cushions and courses suited to rolling over and crawling
  • Caregiver games, nursery rhymes and cuddling to nurture emotional security
  • Individual quiet time, following each child's signals of tiredness

By the end of the year, your child can…

  • Feel secure outside the family circle
  • Develop grasping and mobility
  • Respond to a voice, a gaze and their own name

I'm discovering what I can do

The year of “me do it myself”. Children want to do things on their own, assert their tastes and test boundaries. We welcome that energy by creating an environment where they can succeed alone, at their own height.

Key activities

  • Pouring, sorting, fitting: the foundations of logic and fine motor skills
  • First painting, modelling clay and collage workshops
  • Learning to live in a group: waiting your turn, tidying up, sharing
  • Toilet-training support in constant touch with families

By the end of the year, your child can…

  • Choose an activity and see it through
  • Understand and follow a simple instruction
  • Name their needs and ask for help

I learn with, and thanks to, others

The year of opening up to others. Language blossoms, play becomes collective and group projects become possible. It's also when school learning truly takes hold.

Key activities

  • Pre-writing skills: lines, loops, arches, holding a pencil
  • Discovering letters and sounds, recognising their own name
  • Counting to 10, comparing quantities, shapes and sizes
  • Long-term class projects: planting, a show, a group mural

By the end of the year, your child can…

  • Speak up in a group and listen to others
  • Recognise the letters of their name and a few familiar words
  • Find their way through the day and the week

I'm getting ready for primary school

The pivotal year. Your child is about to leave kindergarten for first grade. Our mission: that they arrive confident, able to manage on their own and already familiar with the ways of primary school.

Key activities

  • Phonological awareness: counting syllables, hearing sounds, rhymes
  • Writing their name and simple words in joined-up script
  • Counting to 20, first hands-on additions, problem solving
  • Visits to our partner primary school and meetings with future teachers

By the end of the year, your child can…

  • Enter reading through understanding the alphabetic principle
  • Write their name and a few words in joined-up script
  • Look after their belongings and themselves independently all day long

Grades 1 & 2

Learning to read, write and count

The cycle of fundamental learning. This is where it all begins: reading, writing and arithmetic become tools pupils use every day. We take the time to build solid foundations rather than racing through the curriculum.

Key activities

  • Reading and comprehension: decoding, fluency, first longer texts
  • Joined-up handwriting, neat copying and first pieces of writing
  • Numbers up to 1,000, addition, subtraction, first times tables
  • Exploring the world: living things, matter, time and space

By the end of the year, your child can…

  • Read a short text alone and understand it
  • Write a correct, legible sentence
  • Set out and solve a simple calculation

Grades 3 & 4

Consolidating and growing more independent

The consolidation cycle. Pupils no longer discover tools, they use them: reading to learn, writing to be understood, calculating to solve a problem. We also work on method: learning a lesson, organising yourself, keeping a neat notebook.

Key activities

  • Reading longer texts, in-depth comprehension and written expression
  • Grammar, conjugation, spelling and building vocabulary
  • Multiplication, division, simple fractions and multi-step problems
  • History, geography, science and a first introduction to computing

By the end of the year, your child can…

  • Understand an information text and summarise its key points
  • Write a structured paragraph without major mistakes
  • Solve a multi-step problem

Grades 5 & 6

Getting ready for secondary school

The deepening cycle, the last step before secondary school. Pupils learn to work independently, organise their revision and manage their time — skills just as important as knowledge for succeeding in 6th grade and moving on to secondary school.

Key activities

  • Writing longer texts, summaries and simple arguments
  • Grammatical analysis, complex conjugation, demanding spelling
  • Proportionality, percentages, geometry and logical reasoning
  • End-of-school project: presentations, research and supervised revision

By the end of the year, your child can…

  • Write a structured text of several paragraphs
  • Master operations with decimals and fractions
  • Finish 6th grade with the knowledge needed for secondary school

Your child never starts from scratch

Moving from one level to the next — including the step into primary school — is prepared several months in advance, and passed on concretely to the new team.

Handover, in writing and in person

Each teacher writes an individual report and presents it to the next level's team before the new school year begins.

Gradual transitions

Visits to the future classroom, meetings with the new teacher and discovery of the new spaces towards the end of the year.

Mix across the year groups

Older and younger children share time together: the little ones learn and the older ones grow in confidence.

Places are limited at each level

Still unsure between two year groups?

During your visit, we advise you based on your child's age and maturity — and never force the decision.
